Synopsis

The Turtles drive to the Austrian Alps, which remind Splinter of the mountains in his own native country, Japan. They are visiting a ski resort where April is staying, while Splinter goes to a mountain cave to meditate alone. And April, after having a ski lesson with Irma and Irma's new boyfriend Rudy, notices that the snow has started to melt. When she checks her videos from the last few days, she sees that a glacier has melted down the mountainside.

This has to do with Krang, who sent Shredder to the village with a Zoetropic wave device to melt the worlds' glaciers, flooding the coastal cities and making the Earth easy for Krang and Shredder to take over. Predicting that April will make things complicated once again, Krang sends Bebop and Rocksteady to Earth to deal with her.

The Turtles decide to try their hand at skiing, which goes rather rockily for them. April contacts them about the strange weather just as Rocksteady and Bebop abduct her. She manages to leave a videotape outside her room as a message to the Turtles.

Irma finds April's ransacked room and panics just as the Turtles arrive, and Donatello manages to discern April's findings from the videotape she left behind. He also figures out that zoetropic waves are being used, which could destroy the ozone layer. Rudy volunteers to be their guide in Austria, but unfortunately a blizzard strikes while they are following Rocksteady and Bebop's snowmobile tracks. The Turtle Van ends up going off a ski drop and nearly plummeting down a crevasse, but Donatello's innovations allow them to escape.

The Turtles arrive in the Turtle Blimp just as the zoetropic wave generator is switched on, and Michelangelo smashes the dish. Donatello and Raphael invade Shredder's base just as Shredder smashes the controls to keep the device from being switched off.

The rising temperature causes a nearby mountain to be engulfed in a giant avalanche. To make matters worse, Irma's new boyfriend turns out to be a cyborg sent out by Shredder. When Raphael kicks him into the machinery, he short-circuits, and Donatello is able to hotwire the cyborg's power source to the zoetropic wave generator. The temperature drops once again, and the women lavish appreciation on Donatello.

Splinter emerges from his cave nearby, irritated that he didn't get the peace and quiet he needed. On a mountaintop, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady freeze as they wait for Krang to open a portal.

As the Turtles dine on pizza, Irma drops by with a new man, which the Turtles are immediately distrustful of. She assures him that she ran him through the metal detector first.

Notes

Errors

  • The first time we see Krang, his robotic hands are flesh colored instead of the usual red.
  • The shoulder pads on Krang's android body were coloured red after Bebop and Rocksteady crashed their snow speeders
  • Donatello's Turtlecom looked like April's version as Bebop and Rocksteady went to the chalet to capture her.
  • When Leonardo picked up a video from inside April's cabin, he had Donatello's colours.
  • The first shot of Rocksteady in the Technodrome at the beginning of the episode showed his belt as grey instead of brown.
  • When Rocksteady said he didn't see any "Do Not Disturb" sign, his shoulder strap and dagger were missing.
