Blodgett is a man working for Channel 6. He appears in the episode Curse of the Evil Eye of the 1987 TMNT cartoon, driving the newsvan, and finds the Eye of Sarnath.[1]
History
Blodgett, drives to the docks, loses control of the van and jumps out as the van veers off the pier and into the harbor. Vernon fires him on the spot and Blodgett sheepishly walks away - but not empty handed - it seems that he has found Shredder's helmet.
Blodgett, wearing Shredder's helmet, laments about losing yet another job when he drops an inspirational tape into his Sony Walkman and wills himself a brand new limousine.
Baxter Stockman takes the Sarnath-o-meter and hits the streets, finds Blodgett and the helmet and is now determined to use its powers for his own good.
Blodgett, determined to reclaim the helmet, discovers the discarded Sarnath-o-meter and begins his search.
Shredder and Blodgett arrive at the Taj Mahal to claim the helmet, but Blodgett is unsurprisingly unsuccessful at reclaiming it. During the ensuing battle, Blodgett saves April from a falling wall.
Blodgett also tells the Turtles the Eye has no effect on gold, allowing them to use gold defensive weapons to shield themselves.
Because of his bravery, April gets Vernon to give Blodgett his job back, although she warns Blodgett that the cost of the van will be coming out of his salary.
