Blodgett is a man working for Channel 6. He appears in the episode Curse of the Evil Eye of the 1987 TMNT cartoon, driving the newsvan, and finds the Eye of Sarnath.[1]
History
Blodgett was in charge of driving the Channel 6 news van to the docks. However, he became frightened and accidentally drove the van into the harbor, prompting Vernon to fire him on the spot. As Blodgett was dismissed, he found Shredder's helmet with the Eye of Sarnath on it.
He later discovered that the helmet would allow him to transform things - excepting gold - into whatever he wanted. However, he was assaulted by Baxter Stockman and left helpless while the malevolent scientist stole the helmet from him. Once his cat freed him, Blodgett used the discarded Sarnath-o-meter to locate the helmet once again. However, Shredder had also located Baxter and took the Eye back.
After Shredder's departure, Blodgett saved April O'Neil from a falling wall. He also informed the Turtles of the Eye's weakness.
Because of his bravery, April gets Vernon to give Blodgett his job back, although she warns Blodgett that the cost of the van will be coming out of his salary.
