Eobard Thawne the Reverse Flash is a time-traveling villain who appears as a "première costume" and story mode antagonist in Injustice 2.
History[]
Eobard Thawne is the descendant of Barry Allen's evil twin brother, Malcolm Thawne. He researched the well-documented life of Barry as his superhero identity of The Flash, and decided to become his greatest nemesis. Thawne received powers similar to Barry's and used his incredible speed to travel back in time and kill Barry's mother, thus beginning a life of torment for the Fastest Man Alive.
In the Injustice storyline, Reverse Flash was present during Superman’s five years of Regime. When the Regime murdered one of his ancestors and cause a time paradox which destroys his timeline, Eobard is trapped in the present for the rest of his life. Yet, he can still have his remaining pleasure on torturing the former Regime turned Insurgency member Flash.
Powers and abilities[]
- Speed Force conduit: The Speed Force is a supernatural
- Superhuman speed, reflexes, agility, and durability: Thawne's powers are equivalent to or greater than Barry's at various points of their lives.
- Electrokinesis: Thawne can harness electric energy through speed.
- Time travel: Thawne can essentially "run" through time, but because he has been made a time paradox, he can't return to his own time.
