"Hey brothers!! Notice any similarities?"

This article's title is conjectural and may be subject to change as new information becomes available.

In the story mode of the Super NES version of TMNT Tournament Fighters, the player will encounter a "mirror match" on the "Sky Palace" stage against their chosen Turtle. This turtle will have a different palette than either of the selectable versions, with purple skin, a blue plastron, and brown bandana and joint pads.

This turtle is a member of the Shredder Elite and is sometimes holding Splinter captive in the randomized story mode. This evil turtle is only ever referred to as a "Fake Brother" and its origins are unknown, though the victorious Ninja Turtle sometimes refers to it as a knock off of the real thing. Popular theory holds that it's a returning Mechaturtle, with the supporting evidence tbeing that you fight him on a rooftop to save a chained-up Splinter, just like in the 1989 video game. However, it is not guaranteed that Fake Brother will be the one guarding Splinter in every playthrough. It's also unknown if these are four "Fake Brothers" or just one which switches weapons and tactics. It is not possible to play the game using the "Fake Brother" palette or portrait, making him the only unplayable character in the game.
