Maligna appears in the Archie Comics and is the matriarch of the Malignoids and rules with an iron fist. Her lieutenants are Scul & Bean.
Profile[]
Searching for planets full of life, Maligna sends her mind controlled offspring to strip them of life and natural resources. Maligna has destroyed and looted many planets bare. She is also a rival of Krang, though the two are willing to work together when it suits their needs.
She was killed in the conclusion of the "Terracide" storyline, where she perished along with the Malignoid race in her hive ship as it crashed into the Sun. Slash sacrificed himself by keeping Maligna and her children from repairing their ship's stabilizing device.[1]
Abilities[]
- Telepathy: Maligna had the powers of telepathy.
- Hive Mind: Maligna controls the Maligna hive mind, allowing her to give orders to multiple Malignoids from any location. Maligna can directly control the minds of Malignoids as well, limiting their ability to act independently. If her Antennas are damaged, her control over the hive mind is weakened.
- Hiveship: Maligna is mentally bonded to the Hiveship and controls it with her mind.
- Armored Exoskeleton: Though she prefers to leave fighting to her children, Maligna's hide is armored similar to Scul and Bean.
- Mandibles: Maligna's mandibles are strong enough to tear apart and eat her children.
