Casey Jones prowls the city by rooftop, looking to keep his neighborhood free of crime. He encounters a new gang and bites off more than he can chew. Fortunately, his friends the Turtles are nearby.
"Crack in a Hard Heart"[]
In the woods of Northampton, Mikey is irritably stomping around, trying to call Raphael in for dinner. Raphael eventually drops down from the treetops, but he’s in no mood to talk. A quick glimpse at Raph’s face shows Mikey that his brother has been crying and immediately he tries to discern what’s wrong.

- Raphael fought the Shredder and his goons in TMNT (Vol.1) #1 and TMNT (Vol. 1) #21. Leonardo fought high tech aliens in TMNT (Vol. 1) #4. Donatello fought dinosaurs in Tales of the TMNT (Vol. 1) #7. Michelangelo fought Savanti Romero in TMNT (Vol. 1) #8 and Tales of the TMNT (Vol. 1) #7.
- J.B. Bonivert also produced the TMNT story "The Purpose of Fear".
- As A.C. Farley’s stories in TMNT (Vol. 1) were not considered "canon" by Peter Laird, it is questionable what the canon status of "Crack in a Hard Heart" is.
