The Gjenganger are a collection of Viking ghosts who appear in the miniseries Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters 2. They exist in an afterlife dimension that resembles a snowy forest, which Raphael and Ray Stantz come across while fleeing from the Collectors.
Raphael sensed their presence shortly before one of the ghosts picked up Ray and pinned him to a tree, then knocked the Turtle unconscious. The gjenganger then possessed both bodies in order to enjoy the sensations of living combat again, leaving Raphael and Ray as disembodied spirits.
The gjenganger in Ray's body was expelled by the combined efforts of Ray and Raphael, but Raphael's body still was possessed. The other gjenganger retreated to a distance to watch as they fought, until Raphael managed to immobilize his body and expel the gjenganger from it.
With the bodies now reclaimed, the gjenganger all attacked at once, but the Ghostbuster and Turtle escaped before the ghosts could catch them.
