Malo is one of the Purple Dragons in the IDW continuity. He frequently sprinkles words of Spanish in his speech.
Story[]
Malo was first encountered by the Turtles when Michelangelo and Angel Bridge fought outside the Second Time Around store. Malo was easily subdued by Donatello, and accompanied the Turtles to the nearest Foot Clan building, though he was unwilling to fight the Foot.
During the Hun micro-series issue, Malo was defeated by Arnold "Attila the Hun" Jones, and ended up following Hun when he took over the Purple Dragons. After Shredder's disappearance, Casey Jones found Chun, Link and Malo robbing a small convenience store, and drove them off. Later that evening, Chun followed Hun and the other Purple Dragons to the Second Time Around store to menace the O'Neils. However, he was attacked by Alopex, who bit his leg.
During the "Chasing Phantoms" arc, Malo was one of the Purple Dragons to attack Casey Jones and be defeated. Subsequently, he became one of Jones' followers.
Malo appeared in the Christmas Special when Link angrily accused one of the other Dragons of stealing his bag of cool ranch potato chips. Malo is seen being held by Link in a chokehold. In reality, Casey had pilfered the bag of chips to take to the Christmas party in the Turtles' lair.
Malo, Link, and Chun resurfaced as co-leaders of the Dragons following Casey's defection. The Dragons had emerged as a staunch anti-mutant hate group that Casey wanted no part of. The Dragons came across Casey fighting the Punk Frogs, and Casey declared a truce with the Frogs since the Dragons were adversarial to both of them. Together, Casey and the Frogs beat the Dragons, leaving them worse for the wear. The Alliance #2
