Plot
Edit
The episode begins with Splinter having a nightmare about the Turtles being defeated and destroyed by the Shredder. He decides to make them train harder instead of letting them go out to stop crime. After training them for weeks, the Turtles are exhausted and Splinter finally allows them to take a break.
Leonardo uses his free time to watch Space Heroes, Raphael takes care of Spike, and Michelangelo declares a prank war and hits Raphael with a water balloon. Donatello, meanwhile, is building a new invention; an all-terrain Patrol Buggy with detachable sidecars. Michelangelo hits him with a water balloon, and while Donatello chases him, he announces that Leonardo is his next target.
Meanwhile, April pretends to be a pizza delivery boy in order to sneak a listening device into the Purple Dragons' hideout. When she meets the Turtles in the lair, the use her home to overhear the gang talking about Shredder's new plan to destroy the Turtles' home in the sewers. Seeing that their home is no longer safe, Splinter allows the Turtles to go topside and find out what Shredder's plan is.
Later that day, the Turtles follow the Purple Dragons to Shredder's hideout, but run into a mutated Chris Bradford outside the building (Mikey later dubs him Dogpound). They get into a fight with him, but he's too strong and they use smoke bombs to escape back to the lair. The Turtles and Splinter start talking about finding a new home, but April refuses to let them give up and volunteers to spy on Shredder. At first everyone disapproves, but they give in when April points out that there's no other choice.
That night April goes to Shredder's hideout with the Turtles watching over her from a nearby building. She tries the same pizza delivery trick with a Foot Ninja, but it doesn't work. So she comes up with a new plan and tricks a man living in the building next door to let her in so she can get to the roof. She manages to jump to the roof of Shredder's building and sneaks in just in time to hear him tell his plan to his minions. April turns on her phone so the Turtles can hear. They hear Shredder mention a rare chemical, but they start arguing and miss the rest of the plan.
As Dogpound leaves the building with his team, he hears April and Leo talking on their phones. He catches April and tosses her in the van, and the Turtles are unable to save her in time. Leo begins to panic, but Raph snaps him out of it by quoting a line from Space Heroes. The Turtles then chase after Dogpound's van in Donnie's unfinished Patrol Buggy. Dogpound and his team hijack a tanker truck. Just as he's about to call Shredder, the Turtles appear in the buggy. A chase ensues, during which Donnie reads the name of the chemical on the truck and figures out Shredder's plan. The tanker is full of chlorosulfonic acid, which reacts violently with water. If it gets poured into the sewers, it will incinerate the lair in seconds, including Splinter.
Soon the tanker truck and the van with April inside split up in different directions. The Turtles detach the buggy's sidecars to follow both vehicles. Leo and Mikey follow Dogpound while Donnie and Raph go to save April. Leo and Mikey try to stop the tanker by using their grappling hooks but they easily break. Meanwhile, Raph and Donnie stop the van by throwing a smoke bomb in it, blinding the driver, Fong, and popping the tires with spikes. Some Foot Ninjas quickly emerge from the back of the van but Raph and Don easily defeat them while April finishes off Fong by kicking him in the face with the car door.
Mikey and Leo finally catch up with the tanker truck and take on Dogpound but are unable to defeat him. They smoke bomb away, then see one of the Foot Ninjas put a hose into the sewers. Leo orders Mikey to stop him which he does while Leo distracts Dogpound which results in one of his katana blades puncturing the tank. Leo quickly remembers what Donnie said about the chemical and tells Mikey to throw the water balloon he was going to hit him with. Mikey throws the balloon at the leaky tank, causing the entire truck to explode. Leo is about to congratulate Mikey when he throws another water balloon in his face, much to Leo's surprise.
Dogpound admits that he won't fail next time, but Shredder is not convinced, and slices a piece of Dogpound's shoulder spike as punishment, attempting to say that he will kill Dogpound at next failure.
Back at the sewer lair, Splinter congratulates the Turtles and apologizes for working them so hard. He says there will be no more training, unless Mikey throws another water balloon at him. All the other turtles attack Mikey.
