Return of the Shredder, Part 1 is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures comic. It was published in March 1989. The story is adapted from the episode "Return of the Shredder" from the 1987 TV series.

Synopsis

Leo and Mikey are shopping in disguise when two thugs attempt to rob the grocery store that they're in. Of course, our helpful heroes aren't going to stand around and let the theives get away with this, so they quickly put the wrap on the punks. April covers the robbery for the news once Leo and Mikey have vanished. Then the Turtle lads head for home to have some well earned pizza.

Meanwhile in Dimension X, Shredder, Rocksteady and Bebop implore Krang to return them to Earth, so that they can seek revenge against the Turtles. Krang sends Shredder back to Earth from Dimension X to take care of the Turtles but, since he failed to defeat them the last time, he leaves Shredder high and dry with no resources or reinforcements. Shredder quickly takes over a local dojo and uses the students in his anti-Turtle scheme. He has them dress as the Turtles and commit crimes to give our heroes in a half-shell a bad name. Krang thinks this plan is too slow and boring and demands that Shredder speed up his operations.

April has a run-in with her boss Mr. Thompson, who's convinced that the Turtles are a menace to society.

Trivia

• While Burne remains on model with his cartoon counterpart, Vernon sports brown hair and some more subdued features than his animated version. Meanwhile, Irma looks nothing like how she appears on TV in the least, sporting a bobbed black hairdo.
