Synopsis[]

In the Guyana highlands of Venezuela, a research team scales a cliff and heads deep into the jungle. They seek a supposed humanoid dinosaur species located there. However, what they actually come across is a massive wooden being with some sort of blaster, which fires on them.

In New York, Casey, Don, and Raph work on the armored truck that Don had found earlier. They get it running, but smoke pours out of the engine.

Meanwhile at the U.S. Air Defense headquarters, the staff track the Utrom spacecraft leaving the moon, even as it interferes with their equipment. General Morgan calls Defcon 3 and after consulting the White House, orders are given out to deploy countermeasures.

Mike prepares to leave Kurtzburg Memorial Hospital, accompanied by his savior, Raptarr and a doctor. Mike observes that the elevator they're in, at one point, shifts and starts moving sideways; this is to have the elevator open on a rooftop two blocks from the hospital, to keep its location discreet. Raptarr gives Mike a literal "lift" home, taking him through the skies on the "scenic route".

The Utroms and Honeycutt continue their descent to Earth and discuss that while the locals may attempt violence, they must not retaliate, so that they will be perceived as nonthreatening.

At the Jones Farm, Splinter sits down with some tea and cookies to watch a trashy daytime show, while Shadow returns home on her motorcycle, wondering if it's appropriate to introduce her boyfriend Jay to the family. As she enters, Splinter alerts her of the news bulletin of aliens approaching New York City. They also catch a glimpse of Raptarr flying Mikey home, and how the Madhattan Maulitia are firing at them, but failing to make a mark.

Casey, Raph, and Don make the armored truck out of the subway, only to find the populace freaking out, and not about them. A couple of fighter jets fire missiles on the Utrom craft, to no effect. Shadow calls April, who is walking home from the doctor's office, but the Utroms' descent has caused interference in reception. The Utroms make their touchdown in the bay.
