Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Shredder's Last Stand is a stand-alone handheld video game by Konami, released in 1991. It is based off the 1987 TV series.

Official description[]

More mutants than you can shake a bo stick at at

Shredder's ready to do some shell shucking. He's unleashed two new Turtle thrashers from his lab in the bowels of the Big Apple - Metaligore and Rotagilla. This is Shredder's last stand, and he doesn't plan on losing to four cowabunga cryin', mozzarella munchin' reptiles.

How to take your life into your own hands

Press the POWER ON/START Switch to turn the game on. The high score will be displayed. Press the TURTLE SELECTION/CONTROL Button to select your halfshell hero. Leonardo has Katana blades, Michelangelo uses Nunchakus, Raphael wields Sai Daggers and Donatello battles with his Bล. When your chosen Turtle's initial is flashing, press the ATTACK button to begin.

The stage is set and the cast awaits you

You must face an evil array of attackers in five sinister stages, each one more dangerous than the last. A boss character also awaits at the middle and end of each level. Good news is, in the slim chance you survive a stage, you'll regain all your life back and get to select another Turtle before you launch into the next stage.

Your life is measured by the Life Gauge. When you get pounded five times, you become nothing but a messy memory. When all four Turtles die, the game is over and Shredder claims victory.

Keeping Shredder's scum under your thumb

Mutants will be coming at you from all sides, so you have to be quick on your Turtle toes. Press the TURTLE SELECT/CONTROL Button Left or Right to face oncoming enemies. Then press the ATTACK Button to wield your weapon. You can also jump by pressing the TURTLE SELECT/CONTROL Button up. You can attack while in the air, but only with Shurikens. The Fab Four has all the right moves, but one slip and Shredder has turtle topping for his salads.

Trivia[]

  • Despite the tile, and being mentioned in the description, Shredder doesn't actually appear in the game.
  • The so-called "Turtle thrashers" identified on the packaging artwork as "Metaligore" and "Rotagilla" closely resemble Tragg and Dirtbag in design.
  • This game was adapted for a Japan-exclusive 1994 release under the title of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles LSI Game & Electrical Note."
