In the 2012 TV series, the Cursed Blades of Vengeance are a duo of curved daggers resembling sickles, which are stolen by Alopex. True to their name, they are capable of cursing anyone cut by them. According to Alopex, the blades once belonged to twin sisters who were presumably kunoichis or assassins. After an evil warlord killed their family for undisclosed reasons, the sisters killed him and, in the process, somehow cursed their legendary blades to inflict a curse of fatal misfortune on any person who was unlucky enough to gain even the smallest scratch from the blades’ steel. The only known ways to break the curse are if the curse-inflicted victim scratches the person who cursed them with the blade so they could transfer the curse to them, or to destroy the blades themselves. Casey Jones was a notable former victim of the curse, after Alopex tested the blades on him to see if they truly worked before she could use them in her mission of vengeance against her brother Tiger Claw. Casey finally rid himself of the curse after destroying the blades. Currently, it is unknown how the twin sisters (the blades’ original owners) cursed their blades, or when they cursed them.
