While that would set up a good storyline for Leo to rescue her, Karai is wayyyyyyy to kickass and tough to be completely helpless unless she was beaten near to death, deprived of anything that could be used as a weapon, tied up with enough chains to immobilize an elephant, and locked in a cage with 12 inch thick bars of pure steel and the lock contained 5 different kinds of locks that required 5 different keys. 

So yeah, she's pretty tough, so it would be kinda difficult to make her a damsel in distress.
