After watching 'Vengeance' is mine and all the Leorai moments, I have a question to ask.
Is Leonardo/Karai going to become a thing or is it not? In other words, is it going to become canon.
I have always seen their relationship (after it was revealed she was in fact, Miwa) as one of family rather than lovers. I find the idea of them kissing and the like uncomfortable because they are half-siblings. (Before anyone argues with that, Leo and Mikey both explicably say 'You are family' to her in this episode. So, they at least view her as a family member.)
If that's the case, why do Leo and Karai keep flirting with each other. Or at least Karai with him. To me, Leo is unsure of his feelings for Karai. He doesn't know what to feel or what to do around her (how he looks uncomfortable when Karai leans in to what looked like a kiss is evidence of this.) However, he still wished to impress her (shown when he blushes when Mikey embarrasses him, how he saves her multiple times etc.) Whether he just wants to impress her in order to win her over onto their side permanently, to simply shot off or because of romantic interest to me is up to interpretation.
Karai, on the other hand, shows very little interest in Leonardo in comparison. I think she views him as someone who she can tease and mess with, like a sibling, but she does this by prying on his past feelings for her (the smoke bomb scene, for example.) Sure, she shows appreciation for Leo multiple times in the episode but, to me at least, that is more of a sibling appreciation than one of love.
Am I reading too much into this? What do you guys think?
