The vitalizer appears in the 1987 TV series episode "Rondo in New York".
Invented by Oswald Dren, it activates the molecules of inanimate objects. When the Turtles fight Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady in the Bijou Theater, the vitalizer falls on some film reels, making some of the film monsters real.
